Darling, Darling, Darling!:
Thinking of you & not having you here is something terrible. I’m worse than the kids at Christmas time, counting the days already & my total come to something like 25 days. What a long time, but then yesterday’s gone & to-morrow’s coming & the time will finally disappear. “Love Me Forever”, is the tune I’ve got on my mind this morning & do I ever mean it. Incidentally! It’s just 6:15 A.M., but what a marvelous day it is & we’re heading for the rifle range in a few minutes.
I do hope my Sweetheart is satisfied the way things are coming out. It means a church wedding which every girl is entitled to & wants & as your happiness comes first, I hope that you will be able to look back on that day as the best & most thrilling day of your life.
To me, the most thrilling day has past. The night that you told me on the dance floor, after going to the dance with Ernest, that you’d give me a chance, is the night that you put me as low down as you could only to bring me to the highest hopes that a man could possibly climb.
Time out! I’m away. Just remember me your Lover,
Arnold
